A Hundred Pieces of Crystal, One Careful Plan

Chandeliers are the most fragile large objects in any home — crystal, thin metal arms, and wiring, suspended overhead. Grand Moving handles de-installation coordination, piece-level packing, and crating.

Why This Matters

There Is No Such Thing as Wrapping a Chandelier Whole

The mistake that destroys chandeliers is treating them as single objects. A fixture with dozens of crystals, delicate arms, and decades-old wiring cannot be blanket-wrapped and carried — crystals chip against each other, arms bend under their own leverage, and finials vanish into moving blankets forever. Proper chandelier moving is disassembly: crystals removed and packed individually in padded compartments, arms protected or detached, the frame cradled in a custom crate, and every component labeled against a photographic map so reassembly is exact.

How It Works

Down, Packed, Moved, and Rehung

  1. 1

    Fixture Assessment

Size, weight, crystal count, and ceiling height documented with photos.

  2. 2

    De-Installation

A licensed electrician takes the fixture down; our crew receives and stabilizes it.

  3. 3

    Disassemble & Pack

Crystals off and compartment-packed; frame crated with suspension or cradle support.

  4. 4

    Protected Transport

Crates ride flat and strapped, top-loaded with nothing above them.

  5. 5

    Reassembly & Rehang

Crystals rehung to the photo map after the electrician installs the frame.
